Celebrating
Peru
In South America, Peru was
rocked by a wave of patriotic emotion this weekend as the country
celebrated its Independence Day (28 July). 4Corners marks the occasion
with a showcase of new travel photography from Peru by Richard Taylor,
shot as he travelled through this fascinating land of great cultural
and geographic diversity.
Through the grand colonial architecture of Arequipa,
the floating reed islands of Lake
Titicaca at Puno, the deep, dark Colca
Canyon and a uniquely cacophonous Peruvian Corpus Christi
Celebration in Cusco,
we see there’s much more to Peru than the essential pilgrimage to the
Inca citadel of Macchu
Picchu. On the subject of
marmalade-loving small brown bears however, Richard remains
tight-lipped. We think he may be keeping something under his hat…
