Ephemeral beauty kisses impervious rocky permanence. In Italy's Dolomite
Mountains near the border with Austria, you find the
fantastic Tre Cime di Lavaredo, sometimes called the Drei Zinnen. It's
an awe-inspiring spot at the top of the world, a mysterious place where
clouds are born and legend says that witches whirl and scream their
curses on cold and stormy nights. With
such dreadful company on the mountain, photographer Manfred Bortoli was
blessed to capture this lovely moment as he hurried home.
