Since moving to Great Britain from his native Poland, Sebastian Wasek has fallen in love
with the British Isles. He had expected rain, lots of it in England, yet he calls the UK
a photographer’s “Paradise on Earth” because the weather can change several times a day
and no place looks the same on consecutive visits. He told 4Corners "You can be a thousand times in one place yet still have the impression of being somewhere new".
Sebastian has based himself in Devon for a relaxed pace of life, the proximity of wild Dartmoor and the county’s innumerable beaches. Favourite British destinations to visit and photograph include Snowdonia National Park in Wales where he endured a memorably wet, damp and foggy slog to the summit on his first visit, and was rewarded with the most glorious of bejewelled green vistas as the sun broke through the cloud on reaching the top. The Lake District is one of his favourite autumn destinations where the diffuse light of overcast days helps the splendid autumn colour sing out and of course, Scotland: where all four seasons come out to play, chasing each other endlessly across the landscape.
