Richard Taylor visits Fes in the North of Morocco to document the tanneries of Fes, one of the
oldest unchanged production processes in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Once described as The site of a miracle; the suppression of the passage of time, this 900
year-old process could finally succumb to modernisation, with proposals to build a new
factory on the outskirts of town.
Once there were almost 200 tanneries in Fes, now there is only one.
It is only a matter of time before this medieval process disappeares forever . . .
