This image is one of my all time favourites. Its unintentional humour wins me over every time I look at it. A tiny boat full of Japanese tourists… in Italy. The guy sitting at the front of the boat seems to have fallen asleep (let’s hope it’s nothing more serious!) whilst his friends at the back of the boat are busy… leaning back? Surely the roof of the cave can’t be this low? The paddler is still standing! The whole scene has a comical and slightly surreal feel to it. It’s like a frame from Woody Allen’s movie: Funny, strange and visually appealing - I’m loving the blue/ turquoise hues in the boat, clothing and water.
