According to the legend, Sana'a was founded by Sem, son of Noah. It is considered one of the most ancient urban cities in the world, and without a doubt also one of the most beautiful. Famous especially for the old district of the city which is composed by so called 'ower houses' (the first example of skyscrapers on the planet), this city is one of the less modernized capital of the world. It holds intact it's traditional style of life completely escaping any sort of westernization, which instead has hit many other capital cities in the region. The photographic project presented by Luigi Vaccarella is a portrait of the city and of it's daily life. It travels through the most enchanting little suburbs, and presents also views of the ancient city, through the streets and their 'suq', the countless mosques and hammam which sparkle almost everywhere, and through the faces of its citizens which appear proud of their long living traditions which have resisted any attempt of modernization. The reportage is supposed to provide the kind of atmosphere of an exotic, mysterious and diverse place which still embraces every little street of the city...
