It was the Chain Bridge that united the two cities of Buda and Pest on opposite sides of the Danube River and William Tierney Clark’s prototype bridge still spans the River Thames at Marlow. Luigi Vaccarella and Richard Taylor photographed Budapest’s architectural and engineering treasures, its ancient thermal springs and historic bath houses, and also found contemporary Budapest to be elegantly modern; chic, yet modest. Geographically at the heart of Europe, Hungary’s capital enjoys a uniquely independent sense of style.
