At 3500 meters, Mount Etna is famous for being the highest active volcano in Europe. It's eruptions light up the night sky in a natural firework display which can be enjoyed even from the distant Aeolian Islands. But the volcano, with its 59000 hectare natural park, offers much more besides fire. There are numerous sports and activites that can be enjoyed right round the year; skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, horse trekking, canoeing... all within the shadow and primitive energy of the mighty volcano...
